Celise BioProducts Wins Prestigious TCU Values and Ventures Competition

[Fort Worth, TX] - Celise BioProducts (Celise) Took home $40,000 this weekend over the two-day competition at TCU in Fort Worth, Texas. Finalist from 56 universities from all around the world made their way to Fort Worth April 4-6 to compete at TCU's Ventures and Values Competition, where over $100,000 in prizes were awarded to student entrepreneurs who believe business can be used as a force for good.

On Friday, April 5, Celise competed in the Blue Flight (one of eight teams) to a panel of judges, and was announced the winner of the flight to advance to the finals the following day. The finals competition for nine teams was held all morning and into the afternoon, where prizes were announced at the Champion's Club in TCU's football stadium.

"TCU, and Fort Worth in general, has been an amazing experience for me. Matt Smilor and TCU did an outstanding job with this event, including hosting dinner at the Stockyards and the finals reception... When they called second place, my heart dropped through the floor, and then I was brought up on the stage as the Winner. They wanted me to say something but I was so speechless all I remember saying is something about the Blue's Brothers and probably making a fool of it but I didn't care - I could absolutely not speak for the next ten minutes. I was flooded with gratitude." Says founder Cameron Ross. He continued:

"I made great friends with the TCU team, Sounde, working on an app that breaks down sound for the hearing impaired and reconstructs it clearly through headphones, which helps the hard of hearing community save on hearing aid costs. As a hard of hearing founder myself, what they were working on meant a lot to me. So when they were announced as the third place winners, I was so happy for them and know that they can do great things with the app's development with it."

Celise is thankful to all the judges and everyone at TCU that made this event possible. As Celise continues to replace single-use plastics with sustainable alternatives, we are glad we can further the Values & Ventures mission of using business as a force for good.
